I'm not a fan of the horror genre, never hated it, I just think it's not for me.

Yes, mainly because I'm easily scared 😅.

That being said, this week I watched Abigail with a dear friend who happens to be a big time horror fan.

Right from the beginning you get the feeling that this movie is not "hardcore" horror, it has more of a splattery/stupid feel to it.

In fact after the 40ish minute we start slowly but surely degenerating into pure chaos. The plot gets so convenient and weird that is hard not to laugh. 😂 

To be completely fair it started almost decently and laid the groundwork for some interesting stuff that, somehow, instead of developing coherently just started to bend every rule it established for the sake of a "compelling ending".

There were a few jumpscare and some gore scenes, nothing really scary...😑

I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, especially horror fans. 🤮

How Would I Fix It ?

• Let's establish some rules for this demonic baby and stick to them.

• Might be a good idea to explore the side characters a little deeper and not pretend they are all stereotypes.

• Give our small villain an actual brain (as usual).🤓
