Air Courting A Legend

😐Documentary with great actors

Ben Affleck “NikeMode”

I can't wrap my head around the 92% tomatometer. 👇

It's just too damn high.

If I had to encapsulate this movie in a phrase it would be "Documentary about the internal processes into the Nike sports division that lead to the creation of the Air Jordan brand".

You may ask, is this bad? Not necessarily, but with a stellar cast like Damon, Affleck, Bateman and Viola Davis the movie still managed to come out as dry and boring as my stupidly technical description.

 It kinda pisses me off.

There were maybe two noteworthy dialogue scenes. Nothing felt properly important, even when the fate of the entire company was at stake, due to the supposedly enormous risk of betting all on MJ and following Damon's hunch.

Mrs Davis has a central role in the story and takes all of the decisions in her family. In portraying so, she comes off as a bad mother figure for the young athlete. Of course that wasn't the intention but it was the only feeling i had when the camera was on her. She was so convinced that she was the only one that was able to decide for his prodigious 18 years old son that his father was just a jester there to make the audience have the occasional laugh.

Not including MJ's face in the movie, especially in scenes that revolved around him, made the viewing experience really awkward.

Unfortunately this week my suggestion is that if you want to watch a nice movie, go for Mario and leave MJ to the rotten tomatoes critic.

They really seem to love this dry and aseptic documentary.
