Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
๐ Surprisingly boring
I have not seen the first chapter of this pseudo monstrous story, and, if it resembles this one, I'm happy I didn't.
This movie is what you can call a "hot mess".๐ฒ
We have an enormous amount of subplots that the main one is forced to bend and slide at will to make them all fit together.
As always, when everything's meant to be important, the only logical end is that nothing really is.
Lack of script focus by our dear Tim Burton gives this picture a really bad taste.๐คฎ
However, let's pretend for a minute that the script was linear and easy to follow, we still have a plethora of characters that are poorly introduced and almost impossible to care for, and all of this is coupled with a plot that was probably written by a 5 year old.
They sure had a cool concept to work with, and Beetlejuice can be a super interesting character in the hands of someone who at least cares about it.
In summary:
- Bad characters
- Bad script
- An awful lot of inconsequentials subplots
So yeah, just avoid it...
Rewatch Deadpool & Wolverine. ๐
How Would I Fix It ?
The only thing to keep is Willem Dafoe's character (that was really cool ๐), as for the rest, just restart from scratch.
