Captain America: Brave New World

Of course it's bad

Okay, let's dive in. My expectations for this movie weren't particularly high. I've seen the trailer and am familiar with recent Marvel productions, which haven't been impressive. Sure, the cast is solid with actors like Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Harrison Ford, but the writing, directing, and even the CGI feel lackluster, lacking the depth one might hope for.

The film feels like it was made 20 years ago, and there's a sense that it might have been cut down from a longer version. Many scenes seem to be missing, leaving plot points unresolved and leading to a rushed ending.

The villain, comes off as rather ridiculous. As for our protagonist, it's hard to call him Captain America anymore; he's more of a mash-up with elements like Falcon wings, vibranium, and even Ant-Man's tech. It's a shame because Anthony Mackie is a superb actor, capable of much more than what this role allowed him.

Giancarlo Esposito's performance was also underwhelming, not due to his acting ability, but likely due to constraints from the script.

Overall, this movie doesn't bring anything new to the table, and it's disheartening to see Marvel not improving. I wouldn't recommend this to Marvel fans. Instead, if you're looking for something better in the superhero genre, check out "The Gorge" on Apple TV+. It's far more watchable and enjoyable.
