Dune: Part Two

I almost jumped on the hype train like, it would seem, most of the critic.

Of course the press drenched this movie in great reviews and praises for Denis Villeneuve.

IMBD and Rotten Tomatoes gave almost perfect scores.

Needless to say, I was almost sure to watch a great movie.

However...

I have to disagree, not entirely, but enough to dislocate this picture from the top spot on the podium and be a little more rational when talking about it.

(Feel free to disagree with everything that I'm about to say)

The first two acts of the movie are kinda mixed up in weird jump cuts and character introductions, yes there's a lot of new characters in this one.😑

The only one who had an interesting one was Austin Butler in the role of our mini boss of the level. 😉

Timotee felt more concerned about looking cool than actually being cool, and his internal moral dilemma is only credible in the final act.

And getting to this final act is the technically boring and visually stunning operation.

Every action/war scene below the 100th minute mark feels a little off and hard to care about.

Almost everything is redempted in the last minutes, that are actually really good and gets to this super high stakes feeling.

It's not a bad movie by any stretch of the imagination, simply too hyped in my opinion.👍

How Would I Fix It ?

• I feel like many of the issues can be solved by cutting out a lot of the first and second act, there are many scenes that are repetitive and almost useless. Slimming it down to 130 minutes would make it a lot better flowing and enjoyable to watch. ⏳
