Renfield

Considering that at the moment the movie theatres screen Fast X and The Little Mermaid, i can easily encourage you to watch Renfield instead of those two trainwrecks.🤣

It's a simple and unpretentious movie that can help you turn off your brain and maybe have a laugh with some friends, thanks to his purposely over the top fighting and splattery style.💥

Hoult and Cage are really a joy for the eyes, their scenes together are superb and naturally they work pretty well even when they're separated. Hoult interprets the quirky and socially akward Renfield perfectly, i can't honestly think of a better cast for the role. Same can be said for Dracula, interestingly wicked and effective.💯

Unfortunately the good things stop here ⛔

Now for the bad:

Awqafina is just an obnoxus little cop with the fighting skills of John Wick and Rambo combined, hard to relate to and pretty shallow in her motivations.👮‍♀️

Ben Schwartz is kinda boring and hard to crown as comic relief, he is more of a joke than an obstacle for our protagonist.🙃

Shohreh Aghdashloo interpreting the role of the leader of a big criminal organization and mother of Lobo (Ben's character) is just plain and useless, she doesn't do anything beside standing in a confident and evil way.👸

How Would I Fix It ?

• Replace Awqafina with a good young actress,keep her strong as a normal cop, and work a little more on her motivation, also keep her skeptical to Renfield's true identity. 🦸‍♀️

  (Es. Chloe Decker on Lucifer)

• Give Ben at least the possiblity to improvise some lines, maybe he can pull off something really funny 🤭

• Shohren can also be al little smarter and effective with her methods to try and catch Renfield and his cop friend. Just give her a decent role (she looks like a capable actress imo)💃
