The Super Mario Bros. Movie

If this movie was comparable to an ice cream flavour it would be vanilla. In the sense that is classic, predictable and makes you wonder why you didn't try the new "cherry Garcia" from Ben & Jerry's.🍦

This (supposedly) super cool analogy is to say that the studio, simply, played it safe.

The movie is exactly what you expect from an animated hero style picture. We have the insecure but full of potential hero that is force to push himself to save his brother and the kingdom from the evil guy (or in this case turtle 🐢).

Don't get me wrong, the movie is definitely watchable, but deep in my head a whispering voice keeps repeating "what if..."

What if they tried to come up with something a little more interesting instead of adapting the video game to the movie.

What if they put our heroes against a really capable villain, that challenged them and push them to earn even more their win.

What if princess peach wasn't an empowered woman and by virtue of her sex was just overpowered...

And so on...🤣

Jokes aside, to keep it brief

There were

-some plot holes, nothing too disturbing though.

-(rightfully) millions of Easter eggs for the fans of the video games.

-A Kickass soundtrack filled with 90s hits

-Super cool Cgi

And to end this little list the thing that surprised me the most

Seemeless transition from the normal 3d to cool and super detailed 2d platform action scenes 💯

This movie has a positive vote because of this reasons, but it has a lot of room for improvement
