Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

I entered the movie theatre prepared for a real shitshow. Instead i found myself in front of semi decent movie...

Definitely a surprise

Transformers Rise of the beasts, starts pretty poorly with the villain and the second roster of good guys (🦍,🦅,🐆,🦏) fighting and saving themselves by flying into another galaxy.

This part is hands down the worst of the movie, it's fast, establishes poor motivations and definitely leaves us asking why there are so many kinds of transformers 🤣

We cut to New York and we hear the Wu Tang clan with C.R.E.A.M., absolute banger and amazing throwback. We are introduced to our protagonist and from that point on the movie flows pretty decently. 🫠

We have the classic plot problems like:

• really conveniently placed situations/characters

• jokes that are not funny 🤣 (script's fault)

• generic villain motivations (destruction of the 🌎)

On a positive note the CGI is terrific. 💯

Amazing battle scenes, really convoluted, are not hard to follow and we don't lose sight of the important things in the mist.

This movie is unfortunately a clear cashgrab by the studios that as usual are trying to milk as much cash as possible from any franchise that seemed to have worked in the past. Like almost everything these days 😔

That fact is something that is, likely, kept in mind by everyone that goes to the theater to watch these kind of movies. Adding to the fact that everyone of these late chapters in old and already seen franchises feels rushed and directed by an accountant instead of a real director. It lacks heart and genuine care ❤️

On a side note Mirage Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.8 is pure 🔥🔥🔥

How Would I Fix It ?

• i would get a simpler villain, probably i would start by creating a fight between the autobots and the maximal. And force them unwillingly to work together to defeat our dear and useless Scourge, keeping him in the realm of a "silver surfer" If you get what I mean. 🏄‍♂️

• the other really important thing that needs to be done is explore more of the past and mistakes of the protagonist Noah, and give a decent and more complex structure to Elena.

  On her side the work can be easier because we can create an intimate relationship between her and Noah bonding over the incredible experience of fighting and helping aliens. And in this relationship we can go deeper into her insecurities and reasons on why she is such a passionate archeologist.⚱️👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨
